/Business Model Awards

Every year Cordial, the recruitment and networking organization Nova and the business magazine Affärsvärlden recognize exceptional business performance amongst Swedish companies through The Business Model Awards. The award ceremony takes place at the annual Business Model Summit event.

The prize is divided in two categories; ‘The Swedish Business Model of the Year’ and ‘The Swedish Business Model Challenger of the Year’. The winners are selected by a jury consisting of 20 top students from Sweden’s highest ranked universities – all members of top talent network Nova 100.

General criteria – the following applies in the selection of nominees for both awards:

  • The nominated business model can be either for an entire company / organization (all sizes), or part of a company / organization (not necessary a legal structure)
  • The nominated business model must originate from Sweden
  • The nominated business model has a “wow factor” with a clear innovative dimension
  • A commercial assessment of the nominated business model can attract investor interest
  • The nominated business model must have been applied between September 2015 and September 2016

Category specific criteria

The Swedish Business Model of 2016 – nominees are judged on the following criteria:

  • The business / organization has undertaken some form of business model innovation/ transformation in recent years
  • The business model has been recognized (publically / by the industry) for successful execution during the past year
  • The business model has made its mark in the industry for one or more business dimensions
  • The business model has demonstrated and proven its viability in the marketplace (for example through profitability or ability to attract significant investments)

The Swedish Business Model Challenger of 2016 – nominees are judged on the following criteria:

  • The business model has been launched or introduced through otherwise intensified activities in the marketplace during the past year
  • The product /services brought on by the business model has / is starting to reach customers
  • The business model is expected to / has made its mark in the industry for one or more business dimensions
  • The business model is expected to establishing itself in its market (good execution)
  • The business model is not required to have proven its viability in the market yet
